Reablement is working with people in their own homes, and promoting independence, while helping only when the person needs it. Reablement is provided to people by Middlesbrough Council, for a short amount of time.

The aim is to keep people at home, as independent as possible. The hardest part of learning to be a Reablement Officer is _‘doing with’ _rather than _‘doing for’_. For example, it is much harder to support someone to make a cup of tea for themselves rather than making it for them.

We have worked with people from the age of 18, and to date the oldest customer we have worked with is 101. We work with people for all walks of life, with no judgement.

Some benefits of working with Middlesbrough Council include:

- Generous mileage allowance. _
- Free training. _
- Sports and leisure membership discount scheme. _
- A generous annual leave entitlement. _

**A Full UK Driving License and proof of business insurance is essential as the post requires travelling within Middlesbrough.**

**For an informal discussion regarding this post please contact Michelle Coughtrie, Reablement Manager on 01642 513122 or Philippa Young, Performance Coordinator on 01642 728026.**
