**Post title**: Assistant Housekeeper Responsible to: Housekeeping Supervisor Responsible for: Self Salary: Points 10-13 Hours of Work: 16 per week (fte 37 hrs per week) Location: Charlton Farm, Charlton Drive, Wraxall, BS48 1PE 1. Overall Purpose of the Role 1.1 To assist the Housekeeper, fellow Housekeeping Staff & Care Team in the effective cleaning and running of Charlton Farm. 2. Main tasks to include 2.1 To present a friendly and courteous response to families and staff.

2.2 To provide cover during holidays/sickness for other members of the Housekeeping team. 2.3 To work with the Housekeeper and Care Team in carrying out the cleaning of the house, including preparation of childrens and family rooms, all main communal areas and bathrooms. 2.4 To order and stock up bathroom toiletries. 2.5 To assist Care Team with the laundry; to include laundering of bed linen and clothes, ironing, stocking up of linen cupboards.

2.6 To stock up cupboards with cleaning products and janitorial products. To take particular care in ensuring that cleaning products are kept securely stored away from children and cleaning cupboards are kept locked. 2.7 To report any building / equipment defects to the Maintenance Managers book. 2.8 To guarantee confidentiality about the workings of Charlton Farm and the families using it at all times.

3. Other Tasks 3.1 To adhere to Children's Hospice South West Health and Safety Procedures and regularly update and maintain your knowledge of safety rules, fire drills, internal security and accident procedures. 3.2 To adopt a positive and reflective approach to personal and professional development, participating constructively in an annual performance review. 3.3 To participate in any further training necessary to enhance your skills and ensure the quality of the service provided.

3.4 Perform other duties appropriate to the role as required. 3.5 Your normal hours of work are worked within the hours or 08:00am to 5:00pm with half an hour for lunch. You may be required to work additional hours as necessary which will include unsocial hours outside the above times for which TOIL will normally be given, rather than payment. 3.6 The above outlines the duties required for the time being to indicate the level of responsibility.
