**About the job**:
You will be the Councils’ lead officer for all matters relating to air quality and contaminated land.

Your knowledge and experience will provide a front line customer / victim focused response to a broad range of Environmental Protection matters including: nuisance complaints and pollution derived ASB, regulation of industrial processes, contaminated land investigations, provision of professional advice to planning and licensing teams, and private water supply regulation. You will be supported in utilising the full range of enforcement tools to achieve appropriate outcomes and sanctions.

You will be involved in partnership working and be expected to participate in enforcement activities related to your role and the team.

As a member of a small, committed and hard-working team, you will be involved in both proactive and reactive work across many of the specialist disciplines that lie within the team’s remit. You will also help to maintain and promote active partnership working with appropriate agencies for the benefit of our customers and activities

**Requirements**:

- You will be organised, diligent and flexible, with good communication skills and able to work on your own initiative.
- You will have an eye for detail and be comfortable working under pressure.
- You must also be able to work outside normal office hours including weekends
- Proven record and experience in the relevant fields
- Ability to travel around the Borough for work purposes
