Job description

**At Novus, we have a great opportunity to join the education team at HMP Leeds as a Learning Support Practitioner on a permanent part-time basis, working 18.5 hours per week.**

**What the role entails**

As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing support to men to help them to identify and access their education goals and make good progress. You will be required to set targets to help them with their learning plans and in addition, you will write learning support plans and assist teachers with strategies to support inclusion across the curriculum.

**What we need from you**

To be successful in the role of Learning Support Practitioner, you will need:

- To understand how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
- To have a track record of working effectively with people presenting with challenging behaviour
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills
- Maths and English at level 2
- Hold or be willing to work towards a level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners within an agreed timescale
