We are looking for an **Apprentice Playworker** to join our Highwoods setting.

This is a part time role, the hours we are currently offering are Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons 7.00am-9am and 2.45pm-6pm.

Full training will be given. You will be trained as a Level 2 or 3 apprentice with support from the Highwoods team and also Realise training.

It is important that you are a good communicator, work well within a team, you like having fun and most of all love children.
You must have sufficient understanding and use of spoken and written English._* Para 3.33 of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2024_

**Main duties include**:

- Participating with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
- Keeping a professional relationship with **all **peers and being an excellent role model.
- Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
- Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
- Administering first aid when necessary.
- Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
- Encouraging parental involvement in the club.
- Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, schools and childcare and play related agencies.
- Attend school open evenings to promote the club.
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
- Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
- Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures, and overseeing the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Assist with daily paperwork.
- On occasions take tea towels and cloths home to be washed
- Assist with snack and resource shopping

**Essential qualities**
- You must like children.

Be willing to learn to enable you to understand the varied needs of the children and their families.
- Have a warm and approachable personality, with the ability to deliver advice and feedback to colleagues and families.
- Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children.

**Desirable qualities**
- Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
- Ability to work on own initiative
