**Your role**:
This Project Support Officer role will provide support across policy areas in the Public Service Reform team, helping to deliver a range of high profile and important programmes of work that aim to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and communities across the city region.

Working in a dynamic, fast paced and stimulating environment you will provide administrative support to a range of workstreams, projects and programmes with a focus on supporting the School Readiness and wider Children and Young People’s programme. You will be part of wider team and work closely with other internal services in the GMCA, as well as a wide range of external stakeholders including local authorities, GM Integrated Care, voluntary and community sector enterprises and a broad range of local partners, working collectively to deliver our vision of good lives for all in the city region.

JOB PURPOSE
The postholder will contribute to the goals of the Reform Directorate through the provision of high quality project support and administration which is focused, flexible and timely, contributing to the objectives of a fast moving organisation. The postholder will support work across the Directorate, with a specific focus on delivery of projects and workstreams within School Readiness and the wider Children Young People’s programme

**DIMENSIONS**
- Liaising with internal and external customer groups and strategic partners, including:

- Senior Managers and staff within GMCA
- Senior Members & Officers from across the GM Local Authorities and other regional and national Local Authorities
- Public Sector Organisations
- Government Departments
- Universities and Higher Education Facilities

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide administrative support to meet the needs of the service area, managing performance and development needs to achieve work objectives and service priorities.
- Provide business support and administration to effectively contribute to the delivery and evaluation of specific programmes, projects, and work streams within the Reform Directorate.
- Contribute effectively to the design, implementation and maintenance of high quality management information systems and business support activities, providing comprehensive advice to stakeholders.
- Deal efficiently and courteously, with tact and diplomacy, to all queries and correspondence, both written and verbal from a wide range of internal and external customers.
- Use initiative and established procedures to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate within agreed timescales and procedure.
- Update and extract information from management information systems accurately and competently as required including the retrieval and collation of reports to agreed procedure.
