Media Lecturer

Herts Resourcing Group are recruiting for a Lecturer of Media on an ongoing temporary basis offering 5.75 hours every Monday, and between £19.74 and £21.42 per hour.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To take an active part in the recruitment, interviewing, selection and counselling of students.
- To coordinate a range of cross Department functions including co-ordination of two or more courses (if required).
- To assist where appropriate, with the establishment and monitoring of student work placements.
- To complete administrative tasks and keep accurate and complete records of attendance of students, schemes of work and course outlines, marking schemes and in course assessments and to make these available as required.
- To participate in and contribute to course evaluation and review.
- To take a full part in the general life of the college including attending relevant meetings and to develop, in conjunction with the Curriculum Manager and Course Leader, planning and materials for new courses.
- To teach on the department’s courses. Duties to include:
1. being an inspiring, well-prepared teacher

2. being a responsible tutor

iii. maintaining effective tutorial, student monitoring and follow up systems.

1. liaising with the appropriate awarding bodies or curriculum leaders to ensure that the criteria for course approval are being met and implemented

2. carrying out effective evaluation of courses

3. carryout all risk assessments including Personal Safety Assessments relevant to practical activities in line with Health and Safety procedures

**The person & qualifications**
- A relevant degree or a professional qualification
- A Level 4 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE) is desirable or the willingness to achieve one in line with statutory requirements

Part-time hours: 5.75 per week

**Salary**: £19.74-£21.42 per hour
