Senior Support Worker

We are currently looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our small team within in a local Out of School Club.
You will be working a minimum of 16 hours per week TERM TIME ONLY with the opportunity for overtime during school holidays.
Your working hours will vary between 7.30am-9am and 2.30pm - 6pm Monday to Friday.

Responsible To: Manager / Management Committee Job Purpose To play an active team role in the provision of high quality play experiences within the out of school club setting, offering support and care to children and their families Key Objectives
1. To work as valued member of the staff team, showing initiative and creativity
2. To nurture an environment in which the children are encouraged in their all round development and where high standards of care are provided
3. Share the responsibility with the staff team for the safety, security and well-being of all children
4. To adhere to all policies and procedures at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities Caring For Children
❖ Contribute to the provision of high quality care and a comprehensive range of appropriate, stimulating and creative experiences which meet group and individual needs.
❖ Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a stimulating, happy and attractive environment for children
❖ Assist children to develop responsibility for themselves and their actions and to become competent, confident, independent and co-operative individuals
❖ Encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect for both themselves and other people
❖ Implement all policies and procedures relating to the protection of children, including the recording and reporting of concerns
❖ Supervise free play sessions, indoors and outdoors ensuring the care and safety of all children Planning and Administration
❖ Maintain a high standard for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the club at all times
❖ Assist with the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys
❖ Assist with the health and safety responsibilities of the club ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
❖ Assist with the administration of First Aid and the recording procedures where appropriate
❖ Contribute to the provision of a range of healthy snacks and refreshments ensuring the Food Safety Policy is adhered to at all times
❖ Be familiar and understand all emergency and security procedures, e.g. Fire procedures Communicating and Team Working
❖ Ensure excellent relations with all children and their families, providing clear communication and interaction on a daily basis
❖ Be a team player and develop positive relationships with other staff and management working co

❖ Attend training sessions and obtain relevant qualifications, which are felt to be relevant by the Manager.
❖ Provide flexible cover as necessary.
