We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-connected, and proactive leader to join RIS as the Head of Research Impact at the University of St Andrews. You will provide forward looking leadership across the University on all aspects of research impact development by providing strategic advice, information and analysis to position the University for success. This will involve leadership, coordination and planning around impact and leading on the preparations for the next research assessment exercise. You will also provide leadership and line management to the impact team in RIS and will play an important role in embedding a culture of research impact across disciplines through all stages of the research life cycle. The post will co-ordinate the support for impact within the impact team of Research and Innovation Services (RIS).

We are looking for a highly organised individual with established experience and understanding of research impact, excellent communication skills and relevant experience, preferably in universities or relevant industry settings. Experience gained supporting development of REF impact case studies is an essential requirement for this post.

The Head of Research Impact will manage the programme of the University’s Impact Acceleration Accounts and provide leadership of projects that embed impact across the University.

The post holder will report to the Director of Research & Innovation Services and will have excellent written and numeracy skills and the ability to prioritise and balance workloads.

This post will be primarily based at the Eden Campus at Guardbridge, a state-of-the-art working environment for professional services units.
