Refuge Worker

**Key responsibilities**
- Must have experience in a refuge or supported accommodation.
- Must have an understanding of Domestic Abuse.
- Need and Risk Assessments and support planning, welfare reforms, Housing and Phycological inform environment.
- As a Refuge Worker, you will be responsible for providing high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children living in our refuges.
- You will ensure the smooth running of the refuge, including the admission of survivors of domestic violence to the refuge.
- To ensure that this work has a focus on fostering the independence of the clients and has respect for the culture, personal history and situation of all its users
- To promote the long-term integration of refugees and other new arrivals, and the development of refugee and diaspora communities by providing a range of tailored services to them and through working with other service providers to maximise opportunities for these groups

**Key skills**
- Experience or knowledge of providing advice and support to vulnerable clients, including crisis management and risk assessment.
- Awareness of the impact of crime on vulnerable adults, witnesses, and the wider community.
- Comfortable using computerised systems and databases to accurately record information.
- Experience of using MS Office.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Hammersmith, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
