**Hours**:36 hours per week Monday - Friday 6:00am to 1:42pm

**Location**:Haringey, Watermead Way, London, N17 0FJ

**What will you be doing?**

To monitor and supervise efficient and effective service delivery of street cleansing services within the requirements of the contract and as directed by Line Management, to the highest standards of service, safety and quality.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Responsible for ensuring that all allocated work is completed to the contractual standard on the scheduled day and time by carrying out both independent and joint formal monitoring
- Responsible for ensuring that staff including agency staff, are fully trained for their allocated duties and compliant with all relevant Health and Safety at Work regulations and work within safe systems of work, this is to be achieved by carrying out trainingand mentoring of staff
- Allocation of work, and allocation of staff in order to carry out the scheduled work as per the contract.
- Responsible for the safety, security and cleanliness of vehicles, plant and tools used within the street cleansing service.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Identify and prioritise work during and for the following day
- Responsible for liaison with Agencies supplying temporary labour to operations to ensure that timesheet information and hours worked are logged correctly resolving any discrepancies or queries that arise
- Supervise street cleansing operatives and teams to ensure that all work issued is completed each day to the appropriate standard, is signed off, filed and recorded
- Identify any shortfall in staff, redeploy existing staff and/or order Agency staff where appropriate and allocate accordingly.
- Ensure that all staff, including agency workers, have received all necessary training, have the correct PPE, equipment and materials for the work to be undertaken and have completed the necessary paperwork
- Give advice, guidance and mentoring assistance to new or inexperienced staff
- Liaise with sweepers, drivers and crews of all vehicles on a daily basis including issuing of daily instructions, debriefs on the completion of work and progress checks using the Companies communication systems and on site spot checks
- Allocation of vehicles, or equipment in order to carry out the work required.
- Ensure that daily pre-start checks are carried out for all street cleansing vehicles and is evidenced by a completed per-start check sheet and that all defects are reported ensuring that any ensuing repairs/maintenance is carried out promptly
- Maintain a good relationship with the public, client, customers, trade unions and Company representatives by dealing courteously with complaints and enquiries in a professional manner and in accordance with contractual targets. Attend site meetings whenrequired
- Act upon verbal and written instructions issued by an authorised person relating to the services
- Preparation and completion of input hours, timesheets, bonus and other related records/forms in a timely and professional manner
- Carry out health & safety quality and environmental inspections, risk assessments, completing all associated documentation to be stored appropriately and briefed to staff as and when required.
- Report any new customers or additional work generated to the Street Cleansing Manager.
- In circumstances related to service delivery to assist and cover within an operational role
- Ensure the effective management and use of all administrative procedures including allocation of annual leave, sickness, accidents and other causes of absence.
- To provide supervisory cover at weekends and bank holidays andbe available for call out if and when required.
- Deliver a winter maintenance service, including being on standby and call out when required.
- Collect all sweeper bags and reported flytips and carry out NI195 inspections.
- Record flytips cleared proactively on ECHO mobile.
- Perform inspections following official complaints and visit known areas of concerns as regularly as required and record and report findings.
- In addition to the above specific accountabilities, supervisors are of course responsible for:
Promoting measures to ensure fairness and equality of opportunity, dignity at work, politeness and consistency in dealing with all stakeholders: employees, customers, clients, suppliers and the general public

- Implementing health and safety, environmental and quality procedures
- Implementing employment policies, proceduresand agreements
