**Job summary**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to join the Media Communications team at RAF Marham as the Deputy Media Communications Officer. The Media Communications Office is responsible for promoting the role of RAF Marham and the wider RAF through a variety of platforms both internally and externally. The team are responsible for managing the RAF Marham social media platforms and identifying relevant stories of interest for a wide audience and a knowledge of social media platforms is essential. The Media Office is a very busy environment with varied tasks and a number of ad hoc requests. The successful applicant must be flexible with the occasional requirement to work outside of core hours. Whilst the role is office based there are a number of tasks that will take you out to different areas across the Station and into the wider community engaging with the public to promote RAF Marham. This post requires a great team player.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
1 Act as Editor of the RAF Marham Station News Publication ‘Marham Matters’ to include the drafting of appropriate news stories and features. Liaise with Lance publishing to design the layout of pages, production of the completed magazine to ensure it is uploaded to the webpage in a timely fashion.

2 Distribution of Station Internal Briefing Notices (IBNs), Defence Internal Notices (DINs) and Command Internal Briefs (CIBs) to specified target audiences to include drafting and editing of script where necessary.

3 Utilise the Station Information screens and electronic board to disseminate information and events to the service community ensuring the information is up-to-date and relevant.
4 Monitor social media outlets to keep updated on potential stories and offer advise to service and civilian personnel on the correct use of social media. Use social media outlets to promote RAF Marham and wider RAF

5 To act as a member of the media support team for and during Station events to include the production of relevant Media Briefing Packs, escorting Press and Media personnel and hosting Media Facilities to promote the RAF in the national/local press, TV and radio.

6 Work alongside the Community Support team to publicise Community events to the widest audience possible to maximise attendance. Assist with events as required and write a report after the event for social media and Marham Matters
7 Support the Station Engagement Officer in the handling of flying complaints from the general public as required. To include the submission of relevant documentation to the Low Flying Complaints & Enquiries Unit at RAF Wittering and liaison with the complainant to foster positive relations in the community, and Air Command Business Secretariat where necessary. Production and promulgation of of low flying notices and posters to local parish councils and the wider community, when required.
8 Media monitoring; daily assimilation of articles and other media reporting to provide Station Execs and Air Command with details of Marham’s media coverage as required.

9 Maintain the Media Communications office filing and records and the placement of stationery orders.

10 With the MCO, participate in Station emergency planning exercises (MACR) to represent the media element. To support the MCO as an A9 member (MCO) of the Crisis Control Cell at RAF Marham.
