**Post Title**:Pastoral Support Assistant - Grade 6- 32.5hrs p/w term time only

**Responsible to**:Pastoral Officer

**DBS Required Level**:Enhanced

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

To provide support to Heads of School and contribute to expert pastoral support for the school.

**DUTIES**

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Liaison with staff/parents/external agencies;
2. Provide pastoral support for students;
3. To assist in the monitoring of attendance;
4. Attend some Children’s Services meetings, including CP Conferences;
5. To deliver targeted interventions (e.g. Behaviour Support) as directed by SLT;
6. To provide administrative support for Heads of School and SLT;
**Specific Responsibilities:

- Pastoral**

1. To support the school’s behaviour management system;
2. Working with parents/teaching staff/LoLs to resolve conflict situations;
3. Listening to and advising students with problems;
4. Help set up and attend parent evenings;
5. Working with disaffected and vulnerable pupils;
6. To assist with invigilation of examinations as required;
7. To administer referrals to external agencies.

8. To assist with one off activities such as Eisteddfod, injections, school photographs etc.

9. Monitor reward and behaviour points on Classcharts and print off information for relevant staff.

10. Meet and greet new pupils and take them on tour of school and help support them to settle in.

11. Put pupils on green report and support Heads of School to monitor their behaviour.

12. To support the day to day cover of the inclusion room.

13. To provide pastoral support during lunch and break.

**Specific Responsibilities - Attendance**

14. Daily monitoring of attendance data.

15. Regular use of RAIS Circle Time with groups of learners.

17. Meet regularly with parents/pupils/AWO/School Attendance Officers and Heads of School to discuss attendance and implement strategies for improvement.

18. Discuss and promote good attendance with pupils and parents by highlighting the link between good attendance and progress.

19. Work in collaboration with the Heads of School/Attendance Officer/AWO in terms of the attendance of all pupils.

20. Provide evidence for the issue of FPNs.

21. To assist the administration staff as directed.

Understanding of a School environment and experience in dealing with pupils of secondary school age
