Our client is a leading developer of clean energy technology, enabling the world’s most progressive companies to decarbonise at scale and pace. Their technology includes fuel cells for power generation and electrolysers for green hydrogen.

Purpose of the role:
Key Accountabilities:

- Own the CAD and PLM systems including the prototype and design release processes as well as licencing of the software and upgrades in a growing organisation
- Own the design review process and be accountable for the quality of drawings and models that are produced and checked within the team
- Line manage a team of CAD drafters including performing appraisals and creating performance development plans Manage the deployment of existing team members and recruit new permanent and contract/consultant staff
- Define, update and track metrics for team performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

- STEM degree or equivalent higher-level qualification
- Expert in GD&T, metrology tools and techniques and datum structures as well as relevant CAD and PLM systems (Creo and DDM preferred)
- Knowledge of design-for-manufacture considerations, relevant standards and prototyping processes for engineering materials with particular importance for hightemperature alloy and steel parts
- Team leadership skills - able to motivate, coach and provide strategy to team members
- Team development skills - able to improve performance, quality and efficiency
- Process documentation skills - able to create and document efficient design processes that meet business needs, including selling new processes to the team and ensuring these processes are used and adhered to
- Strong technical experience in a relevant sector; ideally SOFC/SOEC but alternatively automotive, energy, aerospace or white goods
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills including expertise in stakeholder management and providing status updates
