Lead Driller

Filpumps, based at Thainstone, Inverurie specialises in establishing new water supplies using our modern Drilling equipment and methods to Drill Boreholes through to turnkey completion to provide a sustainable safe water supply for our customers, which include domestic, agricultural, and commercial water users throughout Scotland.

We are looking for a Lead Driller to join our team.

Applicants will be responsible for the following work for a wide range of customers:

- Operation and maintenance of rotary drill rig and compressor.
- Keeping accurate drilling logs.
- Oversee equipment loading/unloading and mobilisation to site.
- Assist with or take on other jobs as required during standby periods.

Applicants with have the following skills:

- Experience operating and maintaining rotary drill rigs.
- Valid CSCS card (desirable but Training would be provided).
- Full UK Diving License and ability to tow.
- Level 2 NVQ in Land Drilling - Lead Driller (desirable but Training would be provided).
- Good communication, organisational and supervisory skills.
- Arc Welding (desirable but Training would be provided)
- Mechanical Engineering experience which can be transferred into other parts of the business.

Applicants will be expected to:

- Adhere to our QHSE procedures.
- Be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
- Be willing to work away and stay overnight when required.
- Supervise Drilling Support Operative.

Due to the specialist nature of the work and the service we offer, full training will be given where required.
