**Salary**: £80-90 per day

Simply Education is proud to be working in partnership with a wonderful school based in Runcorn. They are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their Pupil Referral Unit. The Successful Teaching Assistant will work with a group of students who have become disconnected with their learning. The successful Teaching Assistant will have resilience and be able to model and promote high behaviour expectations. It is vital that you can communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them. Ideally the successful Teaching Assistant will have prior experience supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs.

The school itself caters for students who have SEMH needs so some challenging behaviour will be apparent within the school. The school can have 56 secondary aged students on roll at one time. The setting focussed on supporting students to recognise, manage and self-regulate their own feelings as well as achieving their full academic potential. The school has high expectations for behaviour, values and ethos, students are encouraged to take pride in their setting environment and strive to be the best versions of themselves. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively to support students to build their resilience, self-worth, and ability to manage and self-regulate their own feelings. Consequently, their children become confident, contributing members of society who go on to become successful adults, leading happy lives. The students and staff work collaboratively to create an appealing learning space and reflection area.

The ideal Teaching Assistant for this role will have experience working in education, be comfortable contributing to the school and classroom values and ethos and be committed to supporting students with social emotional and mental health needs. You will have excellent communication skills, be adaptable and flexible, and have a passion for helping young people to achieve their full potential.
