Divisional Lead Social Care-north Manchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Manchester. We are recruiting to our North Divisional Lead in Social Care which also supports our later life services.
The working base is in Chorlton Manchester but you will also have opportunity to work across sites in North Manchester. We are looking for a registered social worker with leadership experience. Your role will include developing all aspects of social care for the north Manchester and Later Life teams to ensure the best possible standard of social care is delivered to users, their families and carers.
You will provide expert advice to managers and practitioners on the delegated responsibilities set out in the s.75 agreement.
The post holder will support the monitoring and reporting of the organisation’s statutory responsibilities for the use of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, DOLs, Care Act and other legislative functions and accountabilities.
The post holder will be specifically responsible for the oversight of commissioning and safeguarding processes within the division. They will lead on the embedding of good practice standards and sustainable systems that support delivery these aspects of the organisation’s statutory responsibilities in relation to its legislative functions and accountabilities.
The post holder will take a lead on divisional training programme to promote the delivery of high-quality social care provision.
Working with operational managers and practitioners to ensure the teams fulfil their social care duties set out within the S75 agreement with MCC.
Ensure quality social care assessments and reviews.
Oversee and provide guidance on complex safeguarding enquiries.
Ensure the quality of witness statements submitted to the Court of Protection.
Complete audits and delivery training
Fulfil the role of an AMHP and advise colleagues around the Mental health Act and Mental Capacity Act

Undertake audits against national and local performance standards and targets
Identify staff training needs
Collate and have oversight of all divisional high risk cases which may include (transforming care, safeguarding, clinical risk, legal activity.) Provide updates when required to Professional Lead of Social, GMMH governance teams and MCC.
Maintain own AMHP competence via active participation in the AMHP rota, supervision and training.
Supporting complex Adult Safeguarding planning meetings and case conferences
Disseminating and raising awareness in the division in relation to Safeguarding procedures and learning
Provide advice and guidance to team managers and service managers in relation to adult and children’s safeguarding issues.
Support GMMH’s input into Adult MASH
Ensure there is a divisional MARAC rota
Represent GMMH at MAPPA meetings
Support operational managers in the recruitment, retention and continued professional development of social workers to the division
Ensuring a suitable skill mix across the division
Support the division in the delivery of the delegated social care functions of Manchester City as detailed in the section 75 agreement
Share knowledge and expertise by presenting training sessions and individual coaching
Ensuring that all divisional social workers including AYSE and AMHPs have access to appropriate support and supervision
Identify training needs and career development opportunities for social workers and AMHPs
Support performance and competence issues in social care duties
Support the organisation of the social work forum, sharing information and taking issues forward.
Participate in local networks to promote social work within the Trust and mental health social work in the Local Authority
