The Logistics Supervisor will provide assistance in the provision of Logistics supply services throughout PELC. This includes assisting with stock control of pharmaceuticals within the Logistics department and sites provided with a drug top-up service. The Logistics Supervisor will also maintain a supply of fully stocked drugs boxes for use by the visiting doctor service. Additionally, the Logistics Supervisor will maintain a log of drug supplies dispatched, including batch numbers, expiry dates, and other pertinent information.

This information will be used to monitor drug use and anticipate future requirements. Finally, the Logistics Supervisor will manage the storage and delivery of consumables and PPEs to urgent treatment centres. This includes maintaining departmental stocks of medicines and consumable items, as well as procuring new supplies, rotating stock, receiving deliveries from the supply chain, sorting stock, and preparing it for delivery to sites. 1.

Main Duties & Responsibilities o Liaise with production, maintenance, sales, and other departments to determine the materials and other items required for current and future production schedules and sales commitments. o Review, develop, and implement stock control, handling, and distribution policies to maximize use of space, money, labor, and other resources. o Advise purchasing department on type, quality, and quantity of goods required and dates by which they must be available. o Prepare reports on expenditure and advise on materials and parts standardization, future stores and stock control policies.
- Decide on storage conditions for particular items, allocate warehouse space, and arrange for regular stock inspections to detect deterioration or damage. Other responsibilities: o Receive deliveries from suppliers, check for accuracy, and store stock securely. o Answer medicines management-related phone calls and resolve basic enquiries. o Prepare prescription batches and maintain appropriate records.
- Place orders for stocks of medicines and equipment as needed. o Process orders received from sites and pack them for delivery. o Ensure that stock levels are adequate and that expired, unwanted, and overstocked drugs are removed. o File Logisticsrecords and destroy records no longer required.
- Deal with queries from base and site staff and refer to Pharmacist where appropriate. o Participate in drug and equipment stock audits and monitoring. o Comply with Logisticsand Health and Safety legislation and PELC policies and procedures. o Empty returned boxes and sort drugs for destruction.
- Participate in the development of the medicines management service. o Communicate effectively with site staff to ensure procedures to maintain temperature of medicines are followed. o Report quality issues regarding storage of medicines/consumables to Medicines Management team. o Provide routine information and answer queries regarding consumables within the limits of their knowledge.
- Report to the team of any potential medicines/consumables storage or transport problems that may impact on the delivery of patient services or the Logisticsbudget. o Monitor medication room and fridge temperature logs and obtain advice from Medicines Management team regarding stability of medications. o Assemble and check consumable items received from NHS Supply Chain. o Safe and secure disposal of unwanted/unused consumables as per policy.
- Undertake audits as required which can be used to improve stock management process. o To follow instructions for amendments to the service as required. o Attend training courses from time to time as may be deemed necessary to develop and enhance accuracy as appropriate. o To enter, monitor and maintain up to date records of consumables stock.
- Responsible for ensuring correct and accurate documentation including all invoices.
