**Job Purpose**
To contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by undertaking a range of teaching, assessment and administrative duties, particularly in relation the MSc Global Economy programme, research methods courses in the School of Social and Political Sciences and dissertation supervision, as requested by the Head of Economic and Social History, in order to contribute to learning and teaching objectives in the School of Social and Political Sciences.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of teaching.
3. Participate in a range of course administration duties, within required timescales, including effective communication of information, marking, assessment and timeous constructive feedback.
4. Assist with the development of appropriate teaching materials ensuring content and methods of delivery meet determined learning objectives.
5. Contribute to the effective use of learning technologies to support and enhance course delivery, course organisation, feedback and assessment. This may involve blended and/or online provision including the use of Moodle and other ICT materials.
7. Participate in the full assessment process using a variety of methods and techniques, including oral assessment, and provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students that supports their learning.
8. Assist with the supervision of student projects, dissertations, and any practical work, advising on skills, methods and techniques to assist the transfer of knowledge, and respond appropriately to the diverse range of learner support/ needs.
9. Facilitate student engagement and pastoral support and contribute towards a positive student experience
10. Engage in continuing professional development activities as appropriate, including PgCap.
11. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of School.
12. To contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s Strategic Plan, Inspiring People Changing The World.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**A3 Professional teaching qualification or working towards one

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**

**Essential**
C1Specialist theoretical and practical knowledge of the history, shape and economic impact of contemporary globalisation and/or of development, institutions, and business in the global economy.
C2 1-2 years relevant experience of teaching
C3 Excellent communication skills both oral and written
C4 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
C5 Ability to accept collegiate responsibilities and act accordingly
C6 Relevant administrative experience [e.g. student support, course administration etc.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 6, £30,502 - £34,308 per annum.
This post is full time and open ended.
