Come and join our Absolute Taste Travel Team, providing catering on a number of high-profile contracts, focusing on rail and private jet catering. The travel team is a 365-day operation with a variety of offerings, from bespoke fine dining for our private jet customers and up to 12,000 dishes per day for our rail contracts.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production line, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. You will lead a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
The Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing a team to ensure efficient and effective operations within a department or organization. You will be responsible for guiding, supervising, and motivating team members to achieve performance goals and deliver high-quality results.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supervise and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team and individual team members, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and development to existing team members to foster skill development and career growth.
- Foster a positive work environment characterized by open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.
- Address any issues or conflicts within the team in a timely and constructive manner, promoting resolution and maintaining team morale.
- Serve as a point of contact between team members and management, relaying information, concerns, and feedback as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations, and promote adherence to safety standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments or teams to achieve cross-functional objectives and deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on team performance, progress towards goals, and any relevant issues or challenges.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Previous experience in a food production environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.
- Relevant qualifications in food production, manufacturing, or a related field are preferred.
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with production labelling software systems will be advantage.

**The role is 40 hours per week (5 days out of 7). A mixture of early and late shifts on a rota produced at least 1 month in advance. Flexibility is required to work weekends on a rotational basis.**
