SMART are looking for a self-motivated individual to grow with the company and potentially manage a team of fabricators in the future. The Company itself, are the leading manufacturers of high-quality stainless-steel handrails and balustrades for the construction industry.

**Role Overview**:
Reporting to the Production Manager, your role will be to TIG Weld Stainless Steel base plate to posts. Cut tubes to size, drill, tap, assemble and package ready for despatch. As the business grows you will also be responsible for training junior members of the production team and occasionally attending site to carry out snagging work. Other duties include:
**Main duties will include**:

- Manufacture and assemble stainless steel handrail and balustrade systems.
- To read and interpret manufacture drawings.
- Measure cut, drill and tap stainless steel tubes.
- Cutting aluminium glass tracks.
- Maintain stock levels of various components.
- Carry out necessary checks and quality assurance of products as per specifications.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Assemble using glued joints and bolted connections.
- Site work may be required from time to time.
- Maintain machines.
- Packaging goods for dispatch.
- Any other duties commensurate within this position and skill set required.

**Skills & Experience Required**:

- Capable of welding stainless steel beneficial but not essential.
- Possess a basic understanding of manufacture drawings.
- Fitting and/or manufacture experience especially of handrails and balustrades.
- Ability to work within a team or on your own.
- Experience of working on a shop-floor environment would be an advantage but not a requirement.
- Being able to use your own initiative to solve problems.
- Have good attention to detail and quality.
- Possess a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Experience using band saws, cold saws, pillar drills preferable.
- CSCS Card.
- Manual Handling.
