Pre-school Sendco

Early Explorers in Shoreham are looking for a new SENDco to join their wonderful team. Early Explorers is a well-established, term time only setting, welcoming 2 - 5-year-olds located within a beautiful church hall with access to a safe and exciting outdoor space.

Duties to include but not limited to:

- Identifying support, advice and funding sources which will assist children within the pre-school or those about to join
- Ensuring that the parent/carers of those children identified with SEND are appropriately consulted, updated, and included within any review process
- Supporting and advising staff in identifying the SEN of children within the setting and those about to join
- Keeping updated on current good practice and any relevant changes within SEN legislation
- Updating their own knowledge and practice and attending any relevant training as required
- Cascading good practice and any changes in relevant legislation to all staff
- Take the lead alongside key workers and parent/carers when planning future support or individual children
- Follow the child’s individual needs and interests to support them at the setting
- To be flexible within working practices within the setting working as a member of the team
- Take the lead in partnership with key workers and parent/carers when reviewing plans/actions/IEP’s
- Liaise with parent/carers as appropriate or required
- Liaise with outside relevant agencies

The setting is open during term time only and hours will be Mon - Fri 8.30am - 3.30pm

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
