Rykneld Sports Centre, and in particular the health, safety and welfare of all RSC’s participants and visitors.

**Responsible to **Sports Centre Manager

**Safeguarding **Every member of staff has a responsibility to be proactive in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all pupils in line with
School policies and procedures.

**Full time / part time **Zero hours contract

**Specific Responsibilities**

**1. Sports provision**

(i) To assist with taking bookings and lettings of the Sports Centre, organising set up, clearing away, opening up and locking up as necessary

(ii) Complete appropriate lettings and club/individual users booking sheets

(iii) Complete Daily Takings sheet as appropriate

(iv) Follow appropriate cash handling procedures as advised by the Manager

(v) Assist with security of the site and with the security/monitoring firm if appropriate. Operate the alarm systems as appropriate.

(vi) Carry out regular visual checks of all indoor and outdoor facilities

**2. Health and Safety**
(i) To assist with ensuring safe access to the site, particularly in adverse weather, gritting and clearing as appropriate.

(ii) To assist with ensuring that the buildings and grounds comply with Health and Safety recommendations, and report any defects immediately. Daily inspection sheets to be completed

(iii) To ensure that Health and Safety notices, signs and equipment within the Sports Centre are kept clear of obstruction, visible, accessible at all times and in full working order.
(Working with the fire consultants on the fire-fighting equipment).

(iv) To comply with all Health & Safety policy, child protection and risk assessment policies and legislation in the performance of your duties.

(v) To take reasonable care of your own health, safety and welfare and that of any other person who may be affected by your actions or omissions whilst at work.

(vii) To comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act.

**3. General Duties**

(i) Empty external waste bins regularly and keep site litter free.

(ii) To undertake any other reasonable duties within the scale of the post holder.

**Work pattern**

Shifts to be agreed with the Sports Centre Manager
