Senior Designer
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer to join our Harrods Team has arisen. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for constructing creative concepts & layouts for the full Harrods print publication portfolio (Harrods Magazine, Harrods Man, Home, Estates & various supplements) A key part of this role is seeing the magazine process from design to print - delivering high quality design and liaising with the photography/ production and sub-editing teams whilst coordinating and managing tasks to ensure publishing deadlines are met. This role will sit within the Creative Content division and report to the Lead Art Editor.

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- Excellent layout skills, great typography and retouching knowledge
- Work closely with the lead art editor, section editors and pictures team to produce great layouts and adhere to the workflow
- Involved in all editorial content meetings to ensure the wider team are always updated of page statuses
- To liaise with the wider team in chasing for content that might be required to ensure deadlines are met
- Ensuring all pages are checked thoroughly before they are sent to press
- and liaising with the Production and Repro team
- To successfully understand a brief in order to interpret business needs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and can multi-task, delivering prompt results and prioritizing effectively
- Collaborate with other creative teams within the business to wholistic and consistent responses to briefs
- Keep up with trends in Luxury design, and the creative efforts of our major competitors as well as other luxury brands

**About you**:

- Excellent proficiency with design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge is essential.
- Good knowledge of magazine design, typography, photography and illustration.
- Ability to think laterally and creatively to come up with great design solutions quickly and efficiently in a demanding and challenging environment.
- Extremely well organized and good at managing and juggling projects - big and small.
- Successful team-management experience with freelance
- Post production including image mark ups, color correction, approvals and art finalizing of pages
- You’ll be a natural and proactive problem solver.
- You’ll be agile and thrive in a fast-moving environment,
- To be successful, you must have good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience of the retail or luxury sector would also be a bonus.
