**Part time Wednesday afternoons**

Epsom College, a highly successful independent co-educational day and boarding school on the edge of Epsom Downs, has a vacancy for non-uniformed volunteers (paid role) to join the successful combined cadet force. The College’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is one of the largest in the country and is part of the national youth movement, administered by the Ministry of Defence. All pupils join the CCF in their junior years and many go to take CCF leadership responsibilities in their senior years at the School. Pupils enjoy numerous activities including overnight camps, expeditions, orienteering, climbing, flying, sea experience and adventure training.

You will be given a variety of responsibilities alongside Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, including the inspection of junior cadets and supervision of senior cadets during their teaching of drill, navigation, and field craft. In addition, you will support the SSI and assist CCF staff at events, field trips and the Annual General Inspection day.

The successful will have a professional approach and able to use their own initiative. You will be competent in supervising pupils and build positive and professional rapport with and staff and pupils. You will have strong organisational and communication skills, be flexible, highly organised and enjoy working within a busy school community. Experience of working with children would be desirable along with a first aid qualification.

This is an interesting and varied role supporting numerous CCF activities and offers the opportunity to be part of a friendly and successful team with further training and development available.
