Adferiad Recovery delivers a new, flexible, and co-ordinated response to the exceptional circumstances faced by people with co-occurring mental health and substance misuse conditions and related issues. We harness the talents and experience of our founding and long-established leading Welsh Charities CAIS, Hafal, and WCADA in their fields, enabling our projects to meet the needs of our most vulnerable with a single, unified, and comprehensive approach.

**Contract**: 15 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

**Salary**:£23658.53 (pro rata £9,463.41)

**Based at**: Godwin Hall, Llanhilleth

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Practitioner to join our team.

The purpose of this project is to maintain mental health wellbeing and to assist in recovery and rehabilitation. Collaborating with both statutory and non-statutory providers to maximise social inclusion and independence. With the aim of promoting community engagement and maintaining independent living based on Adferiad’s Wellbeing principles.

The key principles of the service are:

- Promote recovery through a range of meaningful activities.
- Provide information and advice that supports the individual in making positive choices.
- Reduce social isolation and encourage community participation.
- Create an environment where clients can develop peer support networks.
- Promote and maximise choice and self-determination.
- Work in partnership with statutory, third sector and community services.
- Encourage participation, to ensure that individuals have an equal voice in how services are delivered.

**Responsibilities**:

- To have commitment to and demonstrate an undertaking of equality of opportunity and its relevance to different sectors within the community.
- Must demonstrate empathy towards Adferiad’s beneficiaries.
- Complete relevant intake forms, assessments and Wellbeing plans for each individual referred to the service.
- Develop successful engagement with services users based on foundations of trust and respect within a relationship built on clear professional boundaries.
- Work in partnership with relevant agencies where appropriate to provide additional support.
- Show empathy and understanding towards service users at risk and the barriers they may face.
- Maintain and continuously update knowledge of local service provisions and agencies to offer appropriate partnership working, signposting, and referrals.
- Manage workload, administration, and diary commitments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date administration and caseload records, including accurate reports of all client interactions and discussions.
- Adhere to professional practice standards and legislations including confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies.
- Ensuring implementation of Adferiad Equal Opportunities Policy alongside all other Adferiad policies and procedures.
- Work in accordance with the Mental Health (Wales) Measure and the Social Services & Wellbeing Act 2014 and provide information, advice and assistance if required.
- Adhering to and ensuring correct Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Recognise from information gathered and observations whether a service user can participate fully in support provided.

**Requirements**:

- There are no specific qualifications but there must be evidence of commitment to personal and career development relevant to the post
- Holding, or a willingness to work towards a qualification in Social Care at Level 3 would provide evidence of competence for the post
- Experience of providing support to individuals with serious mental illness
- Knowledge of addiction recovery principles and practice
- Familiarity with medical terminology and mental health disorders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
- Ability to facilitate group discussions and public speaking engagements
- Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client care
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full driving licence and full access to a vehicle for work purposes
