Funeral Assistant

Funeral Assistant - Full-time permanent position, working Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4.30 pm with one hour for lunch PLUS one Saturday in four on a rota 9:00am - 12 Noon AND share of out of hours on-call rota.

Basic Salary of circa. £20,000 per annum + regular overtime.

What Will I Be Doing As A Funeral Assistant?

As a Funeral Assistant with Manor House Funerals, you will be dealing first hand with our clients and be the first point of contact in many cases for our company, consistently delivering high levels of customer services to both the deceased and their families. Other duties include preparing and ensuring the cleanliness of premises and vehicles, Assist with bringing the deceased into our care and preparation of the deceased for viewing. Preparation and fitting out of coffins and caskets, collection and delivery of forms and cremated remains, being part of the funeral service by bearing the coffin and driving company vehicles, if required. And generally assisting the Funeral Directors and Management, as required. The post will require you to assist our on-call rota team at night and the weekends, typically on a 3 or 4 person rota. This will involve Chapel of Rest and Collection of Deceased out of hours as well as taking general enquiries and providing assistance. Payment on top of basic salary is made for out of hours removals and chapel of rest visits whilst on-call.

Essential
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport.
- Good level of physical fitness, as heavy lifting will be part of the role
- The necessary documentation for a basic DBS, reference & driving licence check.
- Pride in your appearance, ensuring you are always professional
- A caring and empathetic nature
- Determination to deliver excellent client services Preferred
- Previous experience in the industry, though this is not essential, as full training will be provided.
