Are you based in the Patchway area and looking to work with children with special education needs? Five education is seeking out Teaching Assistants to work in a primary school in the Patchway area. This school is looking to fill two part-time positions:one covering the mornings (8:30-12:15) and one covering the afternoons (1:00 -3:30). There is the opportunity to combine these roles into one full-time role (8:30-3:30, mon-fri). These roles are offering an hourly rate of between £12.20-12.90 including holidaypay.
Responsibilities and duties:
Working with the teacher to help the pupil access the curriculum, including supporting with differentiation.
Supporting the student's social and emotional development.
Helping the student learn self-regulation techniques, though a lot of guidance and support will be required.
Keeping the student engaged with their work.
Developing a relationship with the students and their caregivers.
Working with other TAs and support staff.
Working with challenging behaviour.
Essential Criteria:
At least 6 months experience as a teaching assistant or 12 months of similar experience.
Experience teaching or supporting children or vulnerable adults with SEN.
A flexible and resourceful approach.
Strong communication and empathy skills.
You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement.
Strong behaviour management skills.
Experience of THRIVE or Team Teach would be an advantage but not essential.
Available 5 days per week, Mon - Fri, within the hours specified in the description.
Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa).
Two recent child-based references and relevant DBS/Police checks.

Five Education do not believe in using umbrella bodies, we use PAYE and how this isn’t comparable with umbrella body pay and that there is no admin fee as with Umbrella bodies and Five Education pay employers national insurance on top of the salary.
