**Here at Suttons, a long standing and successful global logistics provider, we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Driver Trainer to join the team based at our Willenhall site.**

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

**Salary**: £40,374 per Annum plus car allowance

**Job purpose**:

- To ensure the Suttons drivers understand and are aware of their legal obligations and responsibilities.
- To improve driving styles and performance to ensure safe driving by all our drivers
- To train and assess capability in loading and delivery procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation
- To improve fuel efficient driving to safeguard the environment and drive cost savings across all operations***

**Main Responsibilities of the Driver Trainer**:

- Delivering Driver CPC and other training programmes to Suttons drivers
- Delivery of Petroleum Driver Passport training and assessment
- Updating training material and practices with the Driver Training Manager to ensure continuous improvement and continued legislative compliance
- Coordinating with other Suttons Group Driver Trainers to ensure the consistent delivery of training media across depots.
- Providing ad-hoc support to operations departments in matters of driver safety or performance.
- Providing technical support to operations and our customers in matters of loading and delivery practice
- Providing a high standard of administration in maintenance of driver training records.
- Ensuring that Suttons fleet operates in a safe and fuel-efficient manner.
- Promoting awareness of, and compliance with, driver training requirements.
- Driving assessment of new or existing drivers
- Loading and discharge competence assessments
- Evaluation of driver performance in relation to fuel efficiency, driving skills, and company safety standards.
- Supporting operations in the management of driving styles through telematics data
- Liaison with customers in the development of site or product specific training programs.
- Train and support driver mentors to monitor performance standards in driving, loading and delivery techniques
- Assistance in new contract implementations

**Experience**
- Delivering DCPC courses for a minimum of two years.
- A driving assessor or instructors qualification
- ** Skills and Competencies**:

- LGV C&E licence.
- A DVSA recognised teaching or training qualification
- A good knowledge of EU drivers hours.
- Experience in producing PowerPoint or equivalent teaching material
- Full ADR licence
- Petroleum Driver Passport
- Smith System Approved instructor or an approved defensive driving program
- A working knowledge of IT (MS office) skills would be an advantage
- A knowledge of the road tanker industry.
- ** Education**
- Nebosh or IOSH safety qualification
