**Job Purpose**:As a Women’s Support Worker, you will carry a caseload of adult female clients who have
experienced domestic abuse.Our service takes a person-centred approach to supporting clients and you will use a wide range of
skills, expertise and resources to provide a holistic service to each client while working within
Care Inspectorate, SSSC and other regulatory guidelines.

Post-holder will be required to work closely and unsupervised with vulnerable adults and children and will therefore undergo a full PVG Disclosure Check.

**Key Outcomes**:

- Inverness Women’s Aid services will be delivered and developed in line with identified need
- The operational aspects of our organisation will be effective, efficient and in line with good practice
- Staff will have the resources and skills to be effective workers
- Inverness Women’s Aid policy and business plans will be effectively implemented, lead and managed

**Key Activities**:
**Women’s** **Support Worker role**
- Evaluate, plan and deliver individual support and group work for clients in line with current guidance.
- Work with clients to produce individual care plans including an assessment of risk and needs.
- Support women by accompanying them to appointments when required, assisting in completing forms and exercising their rights to access services.
- Advocating for women by liaising with them, stakeholders and agencies on their behalf.
- Ensuring that women & families of all ages are welcomed, supported and settled on their arrival at the supported accommodation.
- Work closely with Family Support Workers and plan & implement joint support for families where appropriate.
- Work with other relevant agencies and organisations to ensure clients are fully supported.
- Developing productive relationships with relevant agencies and influencing these to respond effectively to domestic abuse.
- Promoting awareness of women’s rights and the needs of women who have experienced abuse by developing and delivering talks, workshops and awareness training.
- Maintaining client confidentiality and dignity at all times.
- Keep appraised of new developments within the domestic abuse field.
- Work in accordance with IWA’s policies & procedures, as well as Care Inspectorate and SSSC Codes of Practice standards & guidance as required in the job role.

**Working as a Team**
- Demonstrating commitment, supportiveness and flexibility in your individual role and as a team member.
- Supporting all colleagues to ensure the organisation meets its aims and objectives to our clients and other external professionals.
- Contribute to team meetings and development activities.
- Contribute to IWA performance management processes.
- Working in line with Inverness Women’s Aid operational policies & procedures and regulatory guidance.
- Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation.
- Ensure that the offices and refuge are maintained in a presentable and well organised condition which will include any activities required to meet these standards.
- Represent the organisation in a professional manner to public and professionals.
- Positively promote the feminist/ gendered analysis of domestic abuse and the work of Inverness Women’s Aid.

**Administration**
- Participate in the general running of the refuge/service and any associated Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure efficient & accurate record keeping, filing, statistical analysis, report and letter writing, database administration and any other administrative tasks necessary.
- Assist with referrals to the service and admissions refuge, including completing all relevant forms in an accurate & timely manner and filing as instructed.
- Ensuring your caseload is efficient, well-managed and professional in standard and liaising with the management team regarding your workload and capacity.

A current driving licence and regular access to a car is essential.

Pay: £23,555.00 per year
