Overview of the role
This role will manage the Wardles PI and UK Manufacture relationships, work to develop new product ranges to compete with other DAC companies in the UK, work towards delivering better buying costs, FC planning of buying PI products with PI Importers to improve product availability.
You will purchase Product to sell in Lexon Wholesale business and work closely with the PI Import team purchasing PI products in Europe to maximise the PI Opportunity.
You will work closely with the Commercial Manager, Wardles Sales team to hit the budgets for Internal (Well Stores) External Pharmacy Customers. You will be involved in the pricing of products and profitability to ensure we hit the % Profit Margin and sales team can complete when seeing in the Market.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure good availability of stock for our ranges of products, ensuring that stock is available to buy, with a KPI set at 94% in stock.
- Work cross functionally to ensure any new ranges we buy work for the sales team, check they are profitable, keep on top of Trade price changes and products being discontinued in the UK market.
- Look to work with new suppliers where we can source product at better costs - work with Manufactures to set up new deals and make Wardles / Lexon important partner for their business growth.
- Know your legal classification of product when buying, is the product a POM/ P / GSL.
- Know Recall processes and Procedures in the company working with the RP’s.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure the effective sourcing of products in order to achieve the budgets.
- Monitor the competition and supplier activity monthly to ensure the maximum level of market and competitor awareness, if we have an issue on product purchases that’s not selling facilitate appropriate remedial action.
- Take responsibility for ensuring a thorough knowledge of the market by keeping up to date with all relevant market information using competitor pricing and our Power BI tools. Ensure that key market trends are represented in all defined categories on a timely basis and in-line with the competition.
**Problem Solving & Change**:
- Deliver, margin to meet financial objectives set in Budgets and forecasts
- Develop and deliver FC with PI Importers to improve our product availability maximise sales and profit in order to meet financial and volume targets. Ensure promotional performance is reviewed and revised.
- Deliver comprehensive and robust range reviews on time and to budget. Ensure that range performance is continually reviewed.
- Continually monitor range level pricing to ensure all products are competitive and profit maximised within agreed
**Key Knowledge and skills required**:
- Good knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry, ideally surgical buying Experience UK and Europe.
- Proven track record in similar role

- High Degree of Computer Literacy
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work to time pressures in a fast moving and rapidly changing market
