Keighley, United Kingdom Amber Case Management LTD Full time

We are looking for individuals to join a 'unique' private care team to support a 'unique' 27 year old woman within her home. She has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy and other medical conditions.

We are looking for individuals with a good sense of humour, can participate in banter and work well as part of a team. The ability to be able to think 'outside of the box' comes in handy as the role is to assist A's daily routine, including all aspects of personal care, accessing local activity centres and services while promoting a alternative lifestyle. For example, A has recently attended concerts, shows/ theater and friendship gatherings.

The positions currently available are predominantly weekend work, with the potential for waking nights where applicable.

Previous experience of working in a care environment preffered but not essential, as with PEG feeds. In-house full training will be given to successful applicants, including basic life support and epilepsy training.

A driving licence advantageous as A has her own adapted vehicle.

A has several dogs, cats and squirrels in her home, so a tolerance to animals would be a necessity.

As a team we provide care to the individual in a way that all care settings should and aim to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

- To provide assistance with all aspects of the client’s ongoing rehabilitation / education
- To follow the support programme agreed with the case manager, therapists and the client.

- To work as an individual responsible to the case manager and to ensure good communication, flexibility, and a consistent approach to care.
- To attend support worker meetings and training sessions as requested.
- To make a daily report following each duty regarding the client’s welfare.
- To liaise with the case manager for annual leave requests and alert the case manager of sickness that will prevent them working, in order that cover can be organised.
- To report to the case manager regarding general progress and any incidents that may raise concern
- To respect the privacy of the client. All matters relating to the client’s situation and family are to be treated as confidential and are not to be disclosed to a third party.
