The Malcolm Group is a privately owned and highly successful logistics, construction and maintenance business employing over 2000 people across the UK. Our Logistics Division operates from numerous locations providing integrated logistics solutions including warehousing, road and rail distribution and supply chain management. We operate over 500 artic trucks and manage over 7 million square feet of warehousing and major rail freight terminals, servicing several blue chip customers.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Monday to Friday dayshift Shunter Driver to be based at our Haydock depot located near St Helens.

Keeping in regular contact with the Warehouse and Transport teams is essential to provide updates on progress and managing our customers’ expectations, as is a ‘can-do’ attitude and drive to achieve using your own initiative. You’ll be a key member of our team, working alongside colleagues from the depot and in-coming drivers. You must be confident and have good communication skills given the safety critical nature of the work that is undertaken.

A Class 1 LGV licence is not essential for this role and this is a great way to gain practical experience, however previous work in a logistics environment would be beneficial.

This is an exciting opportunity to kick start a long term career in logistics with opportunities to progress and develop, such as in fork lift operations, stock control or even lorry driving

The hours of work are dayshift based on Monday to Friday, 06:00am to 16:00pm, with overtime opportunities available. Hours of work will be discussed further at interview stage. Due to the nature of our busy operations, reasonable flexibility is expected on occasions regarding working hours, particularly during peak operational periods.
