Post No. LEISR10007.4 - Park Ranger (Mobile)

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Parks team as a Mobile Park Ranger.
- To open and close facilities as directed in line with Council Policy
- To maintain a high standard of security at all buildings and associated ancillary areas to include all Council owned and managed park facilities.
- To liaise with facility users to ensure they gain maximum benefit from the use of the facilities.
- To ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout all the City parks, Open spaces and Playground provisions. Awareness of COSHH.
- To ensure the good behaviour of members of the public and visitors to the facilities.
- To undertake training as a means of advancement, skill building and service improvement.
- To issue tickets and receipts and collect income for use of facilities as directed.
- To collect and deliver mail, goods and materials as required
- To prepare for and clean up during and after organised events within the City
- To work at all times within the guide lines of the ranger’s code of practice and Council policy.
- To manage and maintain where necessary all items of machinery, plant and equipment.
- To undertake safety inspections and risk assessments to all play provisions, parks and outdoor recreational facilities inline with current safety regulations and Council policy.
- To record all findings either electronically or in written form in line with the European Safety Standards - EN1176 and Council Requirements
- Possess a full clean current driving licence
- To observe and implement all regulations covering H&S in the work place by ensuring that the Councils duty of care is achieved and maintained at all times
- To work effectively within a team environment and as an individual

All actions are to encourage the use of the outdoor facilities within Newport, maintain Green Flag status and facilitate the Future Wellbeing and Generations Act. The job also requires the applicant to work outdoors throughout the period.

Please be advised that the job requires the working of 5 days over a 7 day period and includes some weekend work. Hours are to be in accordance with British Summer Time.
