Taunton, United Kingdom Second Step Full time

**Second Step **Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other needs. We promote mental health and wellbeing by supporting people and communities to build brighter futures.

Second Step, in partnership with Ara, are providing Step Together - an exciting service in Somerset. It’s for adults who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness with complex needs i.e mental health, substance misuse, behavioural issues, and involvement within the criminal justice system and significant debt. The service supports clients and works with partners creatively to develop, obtain and sustain housing for the people we support.

**Recovery Coach**

Working to the Recovery Coach Model principles, you will develop strength-based actions orientated around the Recovery Star. You will engage and support your own caseload of complex needs service users in leading their journeys, and to maximise their choice and control over the support they receive by developing a responsible network of support.

You will have an understanding of the issues relating to homelessness, and be able to build and sustain relationships with service users. You will have a commitment to promoting independence and supporting vulnerable people in developing move on and recovery plans.

We work in a recovery focused, psychologically, adversity and trauma (PAT) informed way in all aspects of the team’s practice using relevant interventions, including Assessments, Support Planning, Risk Assessing, Brief Interventions, Critical Time Interventions and Solution Focused Therapy.

You will receive training, and on-going supervision and benefit from both operational and reflective supervision, case formulation and restorative peer support. In addition to this you will be part of a close knit and supportive team of colleagues with opportunities for shared practice and collaborative working.
