Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector for their new facility in Tweedbank, Scottish Borders. This will be a full time role, 40 hours per week based at their new machine shop facility.

They are looking for an experienced Inspector, preferably someone who has completed an engineering apprenticeship, although relevant experience with Co-ordinate Measurements/GD and T and general inspection would suffice.

THE ROLE:

- First-off, in-process and final product inspections.
- Produce Data for First Article and Initial Sample Inspection Reports and report to HGL Main inspection office
- Maintain quality management systems and documentation in line with ISO 9001 and AS9100 systems
- Maintain conformance to internal, and AS9100 Procedures throughout the Production Process
- Maintain Calibration for all equipment on site and arrange annual assessments as required
- Maintain reject and rework data inline with company MRB Policy
- Proactively ensure rework process is triggered when required
- Help maintain the workplace environment via 5S Methods where required
- Help maintain the high quality surface finish requirements on some parts

ABOUT YOU:

- Have experience with CNC Machined Parts
- Have experience with GD and T Measurement
- The ability to interpret Standard Engineering Drawings
- Have experience of CMM Programming and Measurement, although training will be available for the right applicant
- Have experience maintaining Calibration records and processes to ISO 9001 / AS9100
- Experience with hand held measuring equipment and Height Gauge

IDEALS:

- Engineering Apprentice or Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Production Bias)
- Knowledge of Mitutoyo MCOSMOS and Geopak Software
- Knowledge of CNC Programming and Production Methodology
- Familiarity with sheet metal processes, assembly procedures and CNC machined/ turned components

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
