**Acorn Homes is committed to providing outstanding care and support to Children and Young People based in a residential setting and are looking for a new experienced Responsible Individual. A Responsible Individual will lead and develop a group of services to provide sustainable, high-quality care and support for young people in residential care.**

**Responsible Individual Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership and management of a reliable, consistent, cost-effective group of services for our valued young people that display emotional, behaviour difficulties.
- To be the Responsible Individual for all Registered Homes supervising the management of the homes on behalf of the organisation.
- Work within the companys quality framework to ensure that Managers are meeting the requirements of the role and that the service meets or exceeds the regulatory requirements and Quality Standards.
- Lead, manage and support the services and their managers to embed a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring practice and culture are continuously reviewed and positively challenged.
- Ensure the workforce is recruited, retained, and developed in order to meet the requirements of the services, contributing to the design and implementation and development plans for the services.
- Act as a professional lead for the area in which they work, representing the Company at interagency meetings and ensuring that outcomes are in place that demonstrate the effectiveness of the services.
- Build positive external relationships to inform the development of new business opportunities, contributing to and, or co-ordinating the development of business cases and tenders in order to achieve growth targets.
- Lead the operational implementation of new services in line with agreed business plans.
- Support and lead our two Area Managers in their roles.
- Effectively contribute and lead Managers meetings.
- Ensure that care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of themselves and other persons, and comply with all policies and procedures of the Company.

**Responsible Individual Essential Skills and Experience**:

- A professional qualification relating to health and social care or evidence of wide-ranging knowledge of the legislation and needs of children and young people.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience of managing services for children and young people, within a regulated setting.
- Thorough understanding of the legislation and policy that underpins the provision of childrens residential care.
- Ability to manage and monitor budgets effectively with an understanding of social care cost drivers.

You will be joining a family owned company whos owner is a patron of the NSPCC. Acorn has an enviable reputation with local authorities for delivering good outcomes for young people and demonstrating resilience. Acorn Group also delivers education across two school sites (DFE registered), encompasses a Health and Well Being service which provides and delivers assessments and therapies. Acorn currently operate nine registered homes all rated Good or Outstanding and you would become a successful part of the team within the home with full support from an active and engaged Deputy and Manager, head office and senior management team.
