**Job Title**: OTA - Occupational Therapist Assistant

- **Pay**: £11.00 - £12.00ph (DOE)

**What is Pine House?**

Pine House is a 20 bed inpatient rehabilitation service which provides high quality, holistic, person-centred rehabilitative care and specialised treatment for men with complex mental health needs due to mental illness and/or acquired brain injury.

**What is an occupational therapy assistant?**

Occupational therapy assistants support occupational therapists with their roles and responsibilities. They offer practical support to help people overcome problems in carrying out day-to-day activities (occupations) of their lives and help to rehabilitate individuals in different settings.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Supports service users by providing rehabilitative services, under the direction of occupational therapists, to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
- Assess and evaluate physical and mental abilities of patients
- Review relevant clinical notes to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals for each individual
- Consult with rehabilitation team to choose effective activity programs
- Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments
- Assist in educating patients with healthy living, cooking, self
- care, assessing the community
- Supporting service users to access real work opportunities and education in local area.
- Participate in education and staff development courses.

**Training and Development**:
You will work within an identified career development pathway developed through the appraisal process. You will be expected to complete all mandatory training and any identified training needs in addition to this to enhance your role and patient care highlighted within your own personal development plan.

Training will be provided through both formal face to face courses and online training.

You will be provided with supervision on a 4 weekly basis.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
