Clinic Appointments Officer | Hull and East Riding | Part-Time, Fixed Term Contract 9-12 months | 22.5 | Competitive Salary and great benefits

Spire have a great opportunity for the Clinic Appointments Officer to join the team on Fixed Term Contract between 9-12 months on Part time Basis.

**The role will be working Monday to Friday a minimum of 3 days.
**JOB PURPOSE**
- To be an integral member of the Clinic Appointments Team, ensuring efficient patient administration service within the department.
- To provide information to patients, consultants and other relevant departments in a timely and courteous manner.
- To deal with patient enquiries and book Outpatients appointments using the hospital IT systems.
- To support consultants and secretaries to ensure Spire Hull Hospital is the first choice private hospital in Hull and surrounding areas. To ensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld in the provision of service to patients, consultants and the hospital team.

**Accountabilities and Activities**
- To effectively manage enquiries and book appointments for Outpatient clinics.
- To ensure that every patient enquiry is dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.
- To ensure an efficient bookings system for all Outpatient Appointments. This will include direct bookings portals from PMI companies as well as online bookings from the Spire website.
- Be proficient in utilising hospital IT administration systems.
- Liaise with other hospital departments as required to ensure a seamless patient journey.
- Respond to enquiries from patients and consultants in a timely, courteous and efficient manner. Ensure an accurate record of the communication is held.
- Provide a point of contact for administrative assistance to consultants, secretaries, customers and visitors.
- Understand the customer journey from initial consultation to discharge and be aware of patient types and procedures for self-funding, insured and NHS patients.
- Ensure all Spire Healthcare and local hospital policies are adhered to including document control, and all complaints and adverse incidents are recorded on Datix.
- Actively take part in Spire Healthcare enabling excellence programme setting team and personal development objectives.
- Maintain a safe working environment for self, colleagues, patients and consultants conforming to health and safety legislation.
- Practice and maintain a high standard of confidentiality at all times and exercise absolute discretion in the use of all patient/consultant/staff information
- Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
- Undertake any training or development as required to acquire skills and knowledge to undertake role competently.
- Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.

Qualifications and Training

**Essential**
- Good standard of secondary education with demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
- GCSE A-C Mathematics and English
- Track record of administration experience in an office and/or customer experience

**Desirable**
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of the healthcare market. Working knowledge of SAP or a similar patient booking system.
