Scottish Water has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, flexible individual to join our busy network team as a Multi-functional Operative in the Fort William Area.

About the Role

The key objectives for the role - ensuring customers always have water in the taps, ensuring customers can always flush the toilet - in essence repairing burst water mains and clearing chokes.

You will be responsible for all aspects of customer service delivery direct to household and non-household customers. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake out of hours working on a formal standby rota.

A full training package will be supplied for any relevant job requirements.

You will ideally have the following skills/experience:
Clean Full Driving Licence (minimum of car (Cat B) and ideally HGV - Cat C1E Entitlement), CPC plant operator certification, CPC driver certification, DOMS accreditation, mains laying and pipe fitting experience (water or sewage),

Health & Safety accreditation - ability to work safely and be familiar with Risk Assessment / method statement process and follow procedures to work safely at all times.

You will be working alone or part of a team - and the ability to listen, understand and negotiate - with internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll need good IT skills - and it would be helpful if you have some basic knowledge of plumbing or water systems.

Scottish Water operate a flexible working pattern and you will be required to complete 37hrs per week - daily 7.5hrs can be worked between 0700hrs to 1900hrs - any day of the week including weekends. (to be discussed and agreed at local level).

The salary range for this role is £21,053 - £28,425 (dependent on your skills and experience.
