Technical Team Lead

In your new role as Technical Team Lead, you will be integral in the delivery of our enterprise SaaS platform. Your role will involve leading a team of 6-8 developers across in-house and offshore locations. The team is responsible for the delivery of a variety of technical assets within Demica’s Platform ecosystem; including client integration.- This role involves internal-facing and external-facing stakeholders, so excellent communication and comfort dealing with a variety of stakeholders is key.- You should be passionate about building high quality software within an agile delivery environment, familiar with software development best practices, and take a collaborative approach to working with technology peers. You will be a great fit for this role if you have a developer background combined with experience in a Technical Team Lead capacity.What you'll do
- Lead asset-focused team(s) to deliver high-quality, resilient, and scalable solutions, with an initial focus on client integration
- Ensure quality, security, performance, and resilience are incorporated into the development of solutions
- Monitor and manage team adherence to agreed processes (e.g., code quality, unit testing, estimation, incident handling, time tracking, etc.)
- Ensure the availability of appropriate technical support for solutions delivered by your team, both in BAU and during warranty
- Handle escalations from client and internal stakeholders on technical matters relating to the team's assets
- Champion a mindset of continuous improvement; ensuring opportunities for improvement are implemented
- Collaborate closely with the aligned Principal Engineers on solution designs, technical best practices, tech debt reduction, delivery quality standards, and the technical direction of the team
- Work closely with Product and Client Implementation leadership to identify, design, and deliver enhancements and features to facilitate the delivery of Demica’s strategy
- Manage the capacity of the team to meet delivery expectations
- Line-manage team members, including setting & tracking objectives, guiding learning & development, and managing resources
- Train, monitor and coach team members on their output, driving improvement in the quality of the team’s delivery
- Drive development according to agile (Scrum) methodologies
Who you are
- You will be a good fit for the role if you have the below:
- You should have 7+ years’ combined hands-on development and management experience working in IT or Finance in an Engineering role
- You have proven experience implementing technology solutions in a SaaS B2B, or similar, environment
- You are confident leading client-facing discussions with senior technical stakeholders on the implementation of integrations
- You have a strong awareness of software development best practices and can ensure they are implemented in a manner appropriate to the needs of the situation
- You have previous experience with different development methodologies, including agile and waterfall
- You are driven to deliver continuous process improvement
- You have exceptional stakeholder management skills allowing you to build great rapport with clients and other stakeholders, and become a trusted partner
- Experience in estimating software deliverables
- Strong experience of Atlassian Jira/Confluence, source control repositories, CI/CD
- You will be a great fit for the role if, in addition to the above, you have experience in:
- Developing in core Java technologies
- Using integration technologies; such as ActiveBatch, Airflow, Talend ESB, and/or other ETL tools
- Working with Apache Tomcat, Apache Karaf, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache POI
- Working with reporting tools such as Jasper Reports, Crystal Reports
