AWE is looking for a Workplace Assessor in the Mechanical Trades to join a team responsible for inspiring and leading our apprentices to a successful career.

- In this role you will provide instruction, advice, guidance, supervision and line management of AWE apprentices as required and ensure that apprentices have the opportunities to acquire and demonstrate the required skills, knowledge and behaviours to satisfy the standards required of the business, the apprenticeship programme and each apprentice’s chosen trade or profession. You will help to plan and deliver the training syllabus and assess apprenticeship requirements on time and to plan, working in partnership with all staff associated with the delivery of the programme.

- Design, deliver and evaluate training in practical skills, knowledge and behaviours for mechanical trade apprentices-
- Optimise, organise, develop and deliver skills and underpinning knowledge training for allocated apprentices including the review and maintenance of course files, syllabi and schemes of work-
- Have or be willing to obtain teacher and assessor status and maintain it via continued professional development activity-
- Work as part of the Skills Academy team to ensure that defined company and national contracted requirements for development are met-
- Assure, assess and / or instruct apprentices skills, knowledge and behaviours, including during work-based learning-
- Line manage apprentices including company performance management process and identify and address development needs and assessment using recognised company and academy processes-
- Lead a team of approx. 12 direct reports-
- Proven presentation skills-
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal to be understood by a range of audiences, from new apprentices to senior management within AWE-
- Good influencing skills to ensure the appropriate learning opportunities and development of individuals- As part of this role you must:
- Undertake and pass a CRB check-
- Have the ability and affinity for working with a diverse range of people and grades across the business particularly young people-
- Have the ability to attend off-site events (e.g. meetings, conferences, residential courses, etc.) which may include short periods away from home including overnight stays- #LI-SW
