**Company Introduction**

Sedamyl UK Ltd is a leading producer of grain-based alcohol owned by the Frandino group.

Using cutting-edge technologies, we provide a variety range of products that includes gluten, starch and alcohol for food & beverages and animal feed industry, sold worldwide.

The plant is fairly new and very highly automated. Due to continued expansion We are recruiting for someone to join our logistics team.

**Role Purpose**

The Import Export Specialist is part of the logistics team reporting into the Logistics Area Manager. The Import Export Specialist is responsible for processing entries to HMRC for goods being both imported and exported worldwide.

**Scope**

The Import Export Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all customs legislation is adhered to and goods customs are cleared in a timely manner. Ideally the Import Export Specialist will have good planning and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and able to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.

**Main Responsibilities**

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

- Generating import/export documentation for import/export worldwide
- To complete inhouse customer clearance using CDS software.
- Tracking and recording all customs entries
- Checking import/export documents (SAD/C88)
- Working alongside the team on relevant projects
- Track, trace and report shipments to ensure timely delivery to end customer
- Assist in handling and resolving customs issues
- Maintain electronic records including daily import and daily export activity log
- Coach and supervise where needed junior member of team
- Liaise with freight forwarder to establish good relations and competitive pricing
- Take Health, Safety and Environmental ownership of yourself, others and activities within your areas of responsibility and raise all HSE concerns you become aware of, outside your areas of responsibility, with relevant managers.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably requested.

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Previous experience and knowledge of customs clearance, custom academy certification level 4 or 5 or equivalent would be an advantage
- Previous experience within freight forwarding
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Microsoft systems
- Excellent team working skills
- Ability to work to deadlines

Sap knowledge would be an advantage
