The business has seen exponential growth, particularly over the past 4 years, having infiltrated the US markets and expanded the UK customer base. They have an impressive business plan for further growth, via new products and markets.
Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the position of Logistics Coordinator is an essential role in the Supply Chain department.
**Job Purpose**:
To facilitate and co-ordinate the logistics for the USA operation. Communicate with manufacturers and 3PLs to ensure a smooth flow of goods, shipping from Europe and trucking from Canada.
**Responsibilities**:
- Liaising with suppliers, hauliers and clearing agents to ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Creating supporting docs for all customs procedures relating to imports into the US.
- Checking paperwork prepared by agents on our behalf, to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Support the maintenance of the Transport tracker ensuring the most up to date information and recording what is being delayed and why.
- Weekly reporting on the status of the operation
- To ensure all freight Purchase orders are allocated correctly to freight forwarders and pricing is accurate.
- To monitor the forward-looking success of the operation
- identify and flag capacity issues.
- Weekly reviews of freight forwarders’ performance.
- Invoicing and month end procedures adhering to tight deadlines.
- Capture and present KPI data against service providers.
- Taking the initiative to increase efficiencies and improve service levels.
- Maintain the BRC requirements across the whole of the supply chain.
- Assisting the Logistics department with issues.
- Providing general administrative support to the Supply Chain team.
**Key Skills**
- Must be proficient in MS Office - strong Excel skills are a particular benefit
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Problem solving
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
- Must be an excellent team player
- Willingness to develop knowledge by undertaking training (paid for by the company) is desirable
- Customs processes
- particularly commercial invoices and packing lists
- Experience of working with freight forwarders in shipping
- Experience with road haulage
