Job Summary:*

At Royal Greenwich we procure and manage private sector and council stock as temporary accommodation.
*
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join our Temporary Accommodation Placement Team, who provide a quality administration service to the team of temporary accommodation officers and the manager.
*
You will need to have experience in a variety of administration duties, be computer literate and willing to learn new I.T skills.
*
A good working knowledge MS Excel is required.
*
The role is extremely varied; you will work with four other officers.
*
You will need to be quick thinking, discreet and very flexible to meet our changing priorities and deadlines.
*
You will also be required to carry out tenancy signups for our Clients on a daily basis.
*
In order to meet service requirements this will require you to stay late on occasion when required with little or no notice.
*
You must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and show an ability to build good relationships with other departments, landlords and external organisation.
*
Duties will include general administration, creating and terminating tenancies, a high volume of phone calls.
*
This is an extremely busy department so be prepared to be busy and work under pressure.

Sample of Key Duties/Accountabilities:*

To provide administrative and customer access support to the Temporary Accommodation Team.
*
To undertake sign up of applicants being admitted to temporary accommodation.
*
To process the processing of invoices for emergency accommodation
*
*
To ring around daily to secure properties for the use of emergency overnight accommodation.
*
To follow up any interest from prospective new landlords as directed by Senior Access & Support Officer, provide them with the relevant information and inform them of the nightly rate.
*
To allocate properties in accordance with client risks and general circumstances ensuring suitability in line with housing legislation.
*
To ensure properties are health & safety compliant and have up to date safety certificates to enable letting. To check the certificates and ensure they are compliant.
*
To negotiate nightly rate for properties which are outside of the Pan London Rate.
*
To provide information about the temporary accommodation offered and to ensure that the overnight agreement and licence is completed.
*
To be responsible for ensuring that incoming/outgoing correspondence and complaints are efficiently received logged and distributed, and to support staff and managers to achieve Council service standards in responding to correspondence.
*
To be aware of safeguarding procedure and bring any concerns to the attention of the Senior Access & Support Officer.
*
To assist in statistical monitoring, customer surveys, and other exercises to increase the effectiveness of the service.
*
To order furniture for TA properties by producing purchase orders, monitoring stock in ensuring supply is consistent.
*
To issue legal letters regarding the disposal of client goods in storage and follow full procedure.
*
To arrange for goods to be destroyed in the event client fails to collect.
*
To be aware of changes in legislation that affects housing, housing benefits and state benefits.
*
To advise other departments such as Tenancy, Nil Recourse and Social Services where client has been placed.

Must have experience with local authorities or housing associations.
