We are urgently looking for a Domestic Supervisor/Housekeeper to work in Manchester for an educational establishment

Hours are 35 hours per week

Overall Purpose of the Job:
To support the Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator and to work cohesively with other supervisory management colleagues for the provision of domestic services offering supportive and motivational supervision and guidance for the Domestic Services team in their day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, in line with the agreed standards of service. Key Responsibilities,

Accountabilities or Duties:

- To support the Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator and colleagues within the domestic supervisory-management team, in ensuring the monitoring of domestic services standards in their entirety, undertaking corrective supervision and the training & coaching of Domestic Assistants towards their attainment.
- To support work processes and, as appropriate, to learn from the experience of others in the achievement of Key Performance Indicators relating to DSE's and, specifically, to Domestic Services' Strategic Aims and Objectives
- To work & liaise effectively & supportively with other colleagues & teams, in the interests of contributing to the pursuit of a professional work environment and operating/service excellence
- To assist the Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator in the careful, day-to-day planning and delivery of domestic services to the agreed operating standards, providing appropriate and timely services to all student residents and conference/vacation guests.
- To assist the Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator in planning staffing requirements on a day to-day and periodic basis, ensuring that fluctuations in business are accounted for when considering requirements, including the planning for cover of Annual Leave/Sickness absences etc.
- To ensure, through supportive and motivational supervision and guidance of staff, that all domestic services are carried out to the agreed operating standards on a day-to-day basis, whilst working alongside the team in undertaking daily operational tasks.
- To assist with induction, training/learning and development of staff, as agreed and required within the domestic supervisory-management team and within the broader Directorate values and standards.
- To assist with staff performance management matters under the guidance of the Senior Domestic Co-ordinator or Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator, as required and agreed.
- To ensure that staff personal hygiene and professional appearance, including work clothing/footwear standards, accords with the agreed standards, at all times.
- To ensure, as agreed and as far as reasonably practicable, the safe use, keeping and maintenance of the domestic equipment and materials to the required standards of hygiene and safety.
- To assist the Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator in monitoring and managing stock supplies within the hall, including white goods, laundry services, chemical supplies and equipment, using the agreed processes and systems.
- To monitor staff timesheets via the appropriate and agreed processes and systems.
- To assist, in liaison with domestic and other campus colleagues, with the input and filtration of maintenance requests using IT Buildings Maintenance computer system.
- To assist across the operational boundaries, as and when agreed, in-keeping with the role and/or working development opportunities.
- To maintain confidentiality of information in line with data protection requirements
- To ensure compliance and implementation policies and procedures, and specifically to monitor and ensure that relevant procedures in line with Health & Safety COSHH, Manual Handling, Personal Protective Equipment - which are critical to domestic services - are undertaken to the required standards, by the domestic staff.
- To Comply with University Health and Safety requirements, specifically as outlined in the Residential Services Health and Safety Policy
