Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Essex, who are seeking a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis. Please find below further details about this position.
**ROLE**:Planning Lawyer
**LOCATION**: Essex
**CONTRACT**:6 months with view to being extended, 36.25 hours per week
**RATE**: £35.00 to £45.00 per hour
This role can be worked as a hybrid or remote role, but may require office attendance for occasional planning meetings.
**The Role**
- To progress full caseloads of matters through to completion related to Planning & Highways
- Matters will include section 106 planning obligations and s38 and s278 highways agreements
- To assist more junior members of staff with any legislative issues
- Support planning appeals and advise on policy

**The Person**
- A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive and Barrister with at least 2 years' PQE
- Previous experience of working within local authority would be highly advantageous
- Someone who is able to come in and hit the ground running with cases
- Able to work with mínimal supervision and remotely
