Canal Boat Cleaner

Aqua Narrowboats are looking for a Hire Boat Cleaner to clean the interior of our narrowboats to a high standard. You must have an eye for detail and the cleaning must be carried out efficiently in order for the boat to be ready for our guest’s arrival. To communicate courteously with customers should the need arise.

**Main duties and tasks**:
1. To thoroughly clean all areas within the interior of the boat to include mopping, vacuuming, surface wiping and dusting in all areas of the boat.

2. To strip old bedding and make beds with clean bedding and towels. Present both bedding and towels neatly.

3. To notify of any breakages or damages noticed whilst cleaning the boat.

4. To work independently and as part of a team to meet timescales for the handover.

5. To adhere to health and safety procedures and risk assessments when working independently and as part of a team to ensure that all company procedures are adhered to.

6. To deal with any complaints or queries from colleagues, customers or members of the public in a calm and considered approach.

7. Any other duties as seen necessary for the post as cleaner.

**Salary Scale**: £8.44 (for 18 to 20 year olds) £11.74 (21+) per hour including holiday pay

**Working hours**: Saturdays, starting at 8.30am for approx. 3 - 5 hours, March through October, but will be dependent on the number of boats being turned around and the number of cleaners available. This is a zero hour contract and you may not work every Saturday, as such you are paid any hours worked along with any holiday pay you would be entitled to on a monthly basis by bank transfer.

**Experience**:

- Cleaning & Sanitation Occupations: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- driving license (preferred)
