**Overview**:
Stony Dean School are currently seeking a “Behaviour Champion” with experience of SEN and varying pupil behaviours to support our personalised provision and learning support area of the school.

The key role of our Behaviour Champion is to support and develop students that find a traditional learning environment challenging. Helping them to achieve their potential in a learning environment (on and off the school site) that will support their SEN needs.

Each and every one of our pupils are different and they require a different level of support. You will ensure they are happy and content at school whilst supporting them to engage in learning and be the best they can be. The role can be very rewarding and you will be part of a caring and supportive team.

**About us**:
We are an outstanding Special School that caters for students aged 11-18 with a wide range of needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech Language and Communication Needs and Social Emotional Mental Health needs (including ADHD).

**About the role**:
As the Behaviour Champion you will work with a dedicated small team of staff to provide an ‘alternative curriculum’ in the school in order to secure high quality teaching and learning and improved attainment, behaviour and progress of all pupils that fall within this area.

Your role will involve providing basic life skills and supporting the pupils learning curriculum whilst helping students to develop emotional resilience and self-confidence.

The role will require taking students to activities off site (e.g. Bouldering, Bush Craft, Fishing) as well as supporting pupils within the school to access their learning both in and out of the traditional classroom. You will help pupils maintain positive relationships and develop their social skills. The alternative curriculum is provided on an individual basis to encourage pupils to build on their skills and develop as sociable, employable young people with a positive vision for their future.

**About you**:
Maths, English and basic IT skills and a full driving licence are required. Experience in a school or SEN setting is an advantage, but the right attitude and ability to communicate effectively with our students is essential.

As a Behaviour Champion, you will be an outstanding role model who consistently demonstrates the highest standards of care, is fully committed to raising attainment across the school and acutely aware of the strategies required to achieve this.
