We are currently looking to appoint to a vacancy in the Infectious Diseases team. The appointment is to commence as soon as possible for a fixed term period that terminates on 10thMay 2023. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a ‘training post’, full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of these posts are equivalent to FY2 level. Successful completion of foundation year 1 ARCP Or equivalent is essential.

There is a responsibility throughout the duration of this post for the post-holder to participate in the service delivery of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, for inpatient and OPAT including cross cover in case of illness or absence of clinical colleagues.

This list is aimed at covering the majority of potential duties:
1. Working alongside and assist the IMT and GPST and foundation trainees (F1 and F2) and other ACP and PA’s in the day-to-day management of ID in-patients and OPAT patients
2. Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff.
3. Attend and participate in ward rounds and the consult service as timetabled
4. Take part in rostered ID emergency medical work
5. Maintain continued professional development.
6. Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions.
7. Undertake audit at various times throughout the rotations.
8. Teach student doctors as directed.
9. Co-operate with members of the personnel department when monitoring hours of work and other personnel issues. Attend appropriate induction in each hospital or new department
10. Undertake all necessary mandatory training
11. Comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave
